Every job carries a status that tells your team where it stands — from Requires Crew Lead all the way through to Closed Job. Most of the time the status moves forward on its own as the job progresses. But sometimes you need to step in: a customer backs out and you want to cancel the job, or a job was closed or cancelled by mistake and you need to reopen it. You do both the same way: by changing the job’s status from the Jobs list.
Changing a job’s status is a permission. If you don’t see a dropdown on the status — just a plain coloured label — your account isn’t set up to change it. Ask whoever manages your branch to make the change or to grant you access.

Where to change a status

1

Open the Jobs page

Go to Jobs from the main navigation. This is the list of every job in your branch. Use the search box (Type a name…) or the status tabs across the top to find the job you’re after.
2

Find the Status column

Each job row has a Status column showing a coloured label like In Production or Closed Job. If you can change statuses, that label is a dropdown — click it to open the list of statuses.
3

Pick the new status

Choose the status you want from the Change Status: list. The label updates right away, and a confirmation appears at the corner of the screen once the change is saved.
On a phone or tablet, each job shows as a card instead of a table row. The status dropdown sits at the top of the card — tap it to open the same list.

Cancel a job

Cancel a job when it isn’t going ahead — the customer changed their mind, the work fell through, or it was created by mistake.
1

Open the job's status dropdown

On the Jobs page, click the status label on the job you want to stop.
2

Choose Cancelled

Select Cancelled from the list. The job’s label turns grey and it drops out of your active pipeline.
A cancelled job stays in your list — it isn’t deleted. You can still open it to see its details, and it’s filtered into the Cancelled tab so it stays out of your way. Cancelled jobs are also left out of scheduling, so they won’t clutter the calendar.
Cancelling is meant for jobs that are genuinely off the table. If a job is simply paused or waiting on the customer, it’s usually better to leave it in its current status rather than cancel it.

Reopen a job

Reopen a job when it was closed or cancelled but actually needs more work — for example, the customer came back, or someone closed it too early.
1

Find the closed or cancelled job

On the Jobs page, use the Closed Job or Cancelled status tab (or search by name) to find it.
2

Open its status dropdown

Click the status label on the job’s row or card.
3

Choose the status you want to return it to

Pick the status that matches where the job should pick back up — for example In Production if the crew needs to get back on site, or Requires Scheduling if it needs a spot on the calendar again. The job rejoins your active pipeline under its new status.
Not sure which status to choose? Pick the one that describes what needs to happen next. Requires Scheduling puts it back in line for the calendar; In Production signals the work is underway again.

Good to know

  • Nothing is lost. Cancelling or reopening only changes the status label. The job’s plan, crew, work areas, and history all stay exactly as they were.
  • Statuses that move on their own. Some statuses are set automatically as a job moves through its stages. If a status in the list can’t be selected, it’s one the system manages for you — choose a different one.
  • The change is immediate. Once you pick a new status, it saves on its own. There’s no separate save button, and you’ll see a confirmation at the corner of the screen.
