You can only edit a shift while its status is Pending Approval. Once a manager marks it Approved, it’s locked. If an approved shift needs a fix, ask your manager — they can reopen and adjust it for you.
Find the shift to edit
1
Open My Shifts
Go to My Shifts from the main navigation. Every shift you’ve worked or have coming up lives here, each with a status badge: Upcoming, In Progress, Pending Approval, or Approved.
2
Locate the Pending Approval shift
Use the Today, All, and Completed tabs at the top to narrow the list, or type a client or job name into the search box. Look for the shift with the Pending Approval badge — that’s the one you can still change.
3
Open the editor
On the shift you want to fix, choose Edit Shift. The card opens in edit mode with your recorded start time, end time, and breaks ready to adjust.
Adjust the times
In edit mode, the shift shows two time boxes — START (your clock-in) and END (your clock-out).1
Tap a time to change it
Tap the START or END time. A Select Time picker opens.
2
Set the new time
Use the up and down arrows to set the hour and minute, then choose AM or PM. For common values, the Quick Select row lets you jump straight to
:00, :15, :30, or :45.3
Apply it
Choose Apply to keep the new time, or Cancel to leave it as it was. The Total Time updates automatically as you go.
Your end time has to be later than your start time. If it isn’t, the shift won’t let you submit until you fix it.
Add, edit, or remove breaks
The Shift Breaks section lists every break on the shift and a running Total Break Time.- Add a break — choose Add. A new break appears with a start and end time you can set the same way as your clock-in and clock-out, using the Select Time picker.
- Edit a break — tap a break’s start or end time to open the picker and change it.
- Remove a break — use the trash icon on the break you want to delete.
Every break needs both a start and an end time, and each break has to fall inside your shift — its start can’t be before you clocked in, and its end can’t be after you clocked out. The shift checks this for you and won’t let you submit until the breaks line up.
Explain the change
Before you can submit, you have to say why you’re editing the shift.1
Write a shift change note
Fill in the Shift change note field — for example, “Forgot to clock out, actually finished at 4:30” or “Took a longer lunch than logged.” This note is required, and it’s what tells your manager what changed and why.
Submit for approval
When the times look right and you’ve written your note, choose Submit Changes. Your corrected shift goes back to your manager as Pending Approval, now with your updated times and your note attached. If you change your mind partway through, choose Cancel to discard your edits and leave the shift exactly as it was.Submit Changes stays unavailable until everything checks out — your end time is after your start time, every break is complete and inside the shift, and your shift change note isn’t empty. If the button won’t activate, work back through those three.
What happens next
Once you submit, your manager reviews the shift and either approves it or sends it back. You’ll see the badge change to Approved on your My Shifts list when it’s signed off. Until then, you can reopen and edit it again as many times as you need.Related guides
