These are admin settings. You’ll find them under Settings → Price book, and you need workspace settings access to view or change them. If you don’t see the Settings area, ask an admin on your team.
Find these settings
1
Open Price book
Go to Settings, then open Price book. You’ll see a row of tabs across the top: Items, Work Areas, Item Categories, Factors, Additional Costs, and Multiplier Ranges.
2
Pick the tab you need
Click Factors to manage multipliers, or Additional Costs to manage flat extra charges. Each tab is its own list with its own search and Create button.
Factors
A factor is a number that multiplies a cost. Use factors for things like a surcharge on remote jobs, a premium for difficult access, or any adjustment you want expressed as a multiplier rather than a fixed dollar amount. What each field means
When you create or edit a factor, you’ll fill in:- Name — what the factor is, in plain language (for example, Remote jobsite surcharge). This is how it shows up in the list and, when relevant, in the Calculator.
- Factor — the multiplier itself, entered as a number (zero or higher).
- Changes — what the multiplier acts on. Pick one or more of Material cost, Labor hours, and Price. A single factor can change any mix of the three at the same value. Material cost and Labor hours scale the underlying cost the price is built from, while Price moves a line’s price directly — including an item sold at a fixed price, which no other factor or multiplier touches.
- Always enabled — a checkbox. When it’s on, the factor is applied automatically on every matching estimate and is hidden from the Calculator, so estimators can’t switch it off. When it’s off, the factor is available in the Calculator for estimators to turn on per estimate.
Create a factor
1
Open the Factors tab
Under Settings → Price book, click Factors.
2
Click Create New
Press Create New (top right of the list). The Create Factor window opens.
3
Fill in the details
Enter a Name, the Factor value, choose what it Changes (one or more of Material cost, Labor hours, and Price), and decide whether Always enabled should be on.
4
Save it
Click Create. The factor is saved and appears in the list right away.
Edit or delete a factor
Each row in the list has an edit (pencil) and delete (trash) action. On a phone, tap the menu on the card and choose Edit or Delete.- Edit reopens the same fields so you can change the name, value, what it changes, or the Always enabled setting.
- Delete removes the factor. Before you confirm, the window tells you where the factor is currently used — across items, item categories, and work areas — so you know the impact.
Deleting a factor removes it from everything that referenced it, and it will no longer be applied on new estimates. Proposals you’ve already created are not affected. Deleting can’t be undone.
Additional costs
An additional cost is a flat dollar amount added to an estimate — a dumpster fee, a permit charge, a fixed trip fee, and the like. What each field means
When you create or edit an additional cost, you’ll fill in:- Name — what the charge is (for example, Dumpster fee).
- Cost — the dollar amount to add.
- Applies to — whether it’s grouped with Material Cost or Labor Cost on the estimate.
Create an additional cost
1
Open the Additional Costs tab
Under Settings → Price book, click Additional Costs.
2
Click Create New
Press Create New. The Create Additional Cost window opens.
3
Fill in the details

4
Save it

Edit or delete an additional cost
Use the edit (pencil) and delete (trash) actions on each row, or the card menu on a phone.- Edit reopens the name, cost, and applies-to fields.
- Delete removes the cost. The confirmation tells you how many items currently use it before you commit.
How factors and additional costs reach an estimate
You set these up once here, and the Calculator does the rest. When an estimator builds an estimate, Always enabled factors are applied automatically, optional factors can be turned on for that estimate, and additional costs are added where they apply. The estimate’s breakdown reflects all of it in the final price — no manual math required. What’s next
