# View the schedule

> Open the Schedule, switch between Day, Week, and Month, group by people or jobs, jump to any date, and read what's on the calendar — all from one screen.

The **Schedule** is your team's calendar. It shows everything that's been scheduled — jobs, lead activities, tasks, and time off — laid out by day and by person. This page walks you through opening the Schedule and getting it to show exactly the slice you want to see.

<Note>
  You don't change anything just by looking. Switching views, grouping, or jumping to a different date only changes how the calendar is displayed — it never moves or edits what's on it.

## Open the Schedule

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Schedule">
    Choose **Schedule** from the main navigation. The calendar opens to the current period with today already in view.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Get your bearings">
    The controls live in a bar across the top. On the left you'll find **Today** and the date arrows; on the right you'll find the grouping and view menus and the **Filters** button. The calendar fills the rest of the screen.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Choose how much you see: Day, Week, or Month

Use the view menu (the one showing **Day**, **Week**, or **Month**) on the right side of the top bar to change the span of time on screen.

* **Day** — a single day in detail. Best when a day is busy and you want to see each event clearly.
* **Week** — the standard view. A full week side by side, so you can spot gaps and overlaps at a glance.
* **Month** — the big picture. A whole month, handy for planning further out.

<Tip>
  Start in **Week** for everyday work and drop into **Day** when a particular day looks packed.
</Tip>

## Group by people or by jobs

Next to the view menu is a second menu that switches between **User** and **Job**.

* **User** lays the calendar out one row per person, so you can see each team member's day. Active subcontractors get their own rows too, shown with a **Subcontractor** label under the name — so a job staffed only by a subcontractor still appears. A subcontractor's row holds jobs only, not tasks or time off.
* **Job** groups events by the job they belong to, and shows the assigned people — including any subcontractors — as small avatars on each event, useful when you care more about "who's on this job" than "what is this person doing."

Pick whichever matches the question you're trying to answer.

## Move around in time

* **Today** snaps the calendar back to the current period — your quickest way home after browsing around.
* The **left and right arrows** step backward and forward one Day, Week, or Month at a time, depending on the view you're in.
* The label between the arrows tells you exactly which range you're looking at.

## Read the calendar

Everything on the calendar is a colored card. The color tells you the activity type, and the card itself shows the essentials — usually the client or title and the time range.

* **Jobs** show the client and job, plus assigned people (as avatars) in Job grouping.
* **Lead Activities** show the lead's name. A green check means the customer has confirmed the visit, a flame icon marks a hot (high-priority) lead, and a shuffle icon marks a flexible client.
* **Tasks** show the task title or type.
* **Time Off** shows the reason and the time range.

A small **eye-off icon** on a card means it's unpublished — it's been drafted but the team hasn't been notified yet. In a multi-branch setup, a small colored pill on a card names the branch it belongs to.

Select any card to open its details, where you can review or edit it.

<Note>
  If nothing is scheduled for the range you're viewing, you'll see **Nothing scheduled** along with a **Create New** button so you can add something right away.
</Note>

## Narrow it down with Filters

When the calendar is crowded, the **Filters** button opens a panel where you can limit what shows. You can filter by **People** (team members and subcontractors together), **Clients**, **Role**, **Activity Types** (Jobs, Lead Activities, Tasks, Time-Off), and **Status** (Published or Unpublished). A number next to the **Filters** button tells you how many filters are currently on, and **Clear Filters** resets them.

If you find yourself setting the same filters again and again, you can save them as a reusable view.

<Tip>
  For the full walkthrough of saving and reusing filter sets, see [Filter and save views](/guides/schedule/filter-and-save-views).
</Tip>

## Add something from the Schedule

The **Create New** button in the top-right corner lets you add to the calendar without leaving it. It opens a short menu with **Lead Activity**, **Job**, **Task**, and **Time Off**. You can also click an empty time slot directly on the calendar to start creating in that spot.
