# Filter and save views

> Narrow the Schedule to the people, clients, and activity you care about, then save those filters as a named view you can reuse, share with your branch, and set as your default.

The Schedule can show a lot at once. **Filters** let you cut it down to exactly what you want to see — just one crew, a single client, only published shifts — and **saved filters** let you keep that setup so you don't have to rebuild it every time. You can even share a saved view with your branch and pin one as your default so the Schedule opens that way for you every time.

<Note>
  Filters only change what *you* see on screen. They don't move, hide, or change anyone's actual shifts.
</Note>

## Open the Filters panel

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to the Schedule">
    Open **Schedule** from the main navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Filters">
    Click the **Filters** button at the top of the Schedule. The panel slides in from the side. When you have filters applied, the button shows a count next to it — for example, **Filters (3)** — so you always know the view is narrowed.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Narrow the Schedule

Inside the **Filters** panel, each section lets you focus the Schedule a different way. Open as many or as few as you like — they all work together, and the Schedule updates as you go.

* **People** — pick one or more people — team members or subcontractors — to show only their schedule. Use the search box to find someone quickly.
* **Clients** — show only activity tied to the clients you choose.
* **Role** — focus on a type of team member, such as **Crew Member**, **Crew Leader**, **Sales Person**, **Sales Admins**, **Ops Manager**, or **Admin**. Choose **Subcontractor** to show subcontractors.
* **Activity Types** — choose which kinds of entries appear: **Jobs**, **Lead Activities**, **Tasks**, and **Time-Off**.
* **Status** — show **Published** shifts, **Unpublished** shifts, or both.
* **Branches** — when your account works across more than one branch, pick which branches to include.

As soon as one or more filters are on, a line at the top of the panel tells you how many are **active**, and a **Clear Filters** button appears next to it to reset everything in one click.

<Tip>
  The **Branches** section only shows up if your account is set up to view more than one branch at a time. If you only work in one branch, you won't see it — and you don't need it.
</Tip>

## Save your current filters as a view

Once you've set the filters the way you like, you can save them so they're a click away next time.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Click Save Current Filters">
    With at least one filter active, click **Save Current Filters** in the panel. A small **Save Current Filters** window opens.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name the view">
    Type a clear **Name** so you'll recognize it later — for example, *My Team's Schedule*.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Decide who can see it">
    Leave **Share with branch** unchecked to keep the view private to you. Check it to share the view with everyone in your branch.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save**. Your new view is added to the **Saved Filters** list at the top of the panel and is selected right away.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  A saved view remembers the *filters* you picked — the people, clients, roles, activity types, status, and branches. It does not lock in a date; the Schedule always opens on the current day or week.
</Note>

## Reuse a saved view

Open the **Filters** panel and use the **Saved Filters** picker at the top. Choose a view from the list, and the Schedule instantly applies all of its filters. You can search the list by name if you have a lot of saved views.

### Update a view after changing it

If you pick a saved view and then change a filter, the view is now different from what you saved. An **Update Selected Saved Filter** button appears so you can save those changes back onto the view. (You'll only see this for views you own.)

### Rename or delete a view

In the **Saved Filters** picker, each view has small icons next to its name:

* The **pencil** opens **Edit Saved Filter**, where you can change the **Name** and click **Save**.
* The **trash** deletes the view. You'll be asked to confirm, since deleting is permanent.

<Note>
  You can rename or delete a view you created. Views shared with your branch can also be managed by people on your team who have permission to manage them.
</Note>

## Set a default view

If you almost always want the Schedule filtered the same way, pin a view as your default so it loads automatically.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Saved Filters picker">
    In the **Filters** panel, open the **Saved Filters** list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click the star">
    Click the **star** next to a view to make it your default. A filled gold star marks the current default. Click the star again to remove it.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  Your default is just for you and is remembered per branch — picking a default doesn't change anyone else's Schedule. From then on, the Schedule opens already filtered by that view, and you can still tweak or clear the filters any time.
