# Edit Project Details & Contacts

> Keep a project accurate — update the people to reach about the work and the property's address, type, and parking, right from the Overview tab.

A project's **Overview** holds the details everyone relies on: who to call about the work and where the work happens. When something changes — a new point of contact, a corrected address — you update it here so the estimate, the crew, and the schedule all stay in sync.

  You'll find both editors on the **Overview** tab of the project. Look for the small edit control on the **Contact Details** and **Property Details** cards.

## Edit contact details

The **Contact Details** card lists the **Primary Contact** and any **Secondary Contacts** for the project.

  <Step title="Open the editor">
    On the **Overview** tab, find the **Contact Details** card and click its edit control. The **Contact Details** window opens with the existing contacts filled in.

  <Step title="Update a contact">
    For each contact you can edit **First Name**, **Last Name**, **Phone**, **Email**, and **Relationship to Property**. Last name and phone are required.

  <Step title="Mark the primary contact">
    Use the **Primary Contact** switch on a contact to make it the main person for the project. This is who the work is associated with by default.

  <Step title="Add another contact">
    Click **Add Contact** to add a secondary contact, then fill in their details.

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Save Changes**. You'll see a **Contacts updated** confirmation, and the card refreshes with the new details.

### Removing a contact

To take a contact off the project, use the remove control on that contact. You'll be asked to confirm with **Remove contact?** — the contact is taken off the project when you save.

<Tip>
  Removing a contact from a project does **not** delete them. They stay attached to any clients or leads they belong to, so you won't lose their record.

<Note>
  Closing the window with **Cancel** discards any changes you made — nothing is saved until you click **Save Changes**.

## Edit property details

The **Property Details** card shows the **Address**, **Property Type**, and **Parking** for the project.

    On the **Overview** tab, find the **Property Details** card and click its edit control. The **Property Details** window opens.

  <Step title="Update the address">
    Start typing in the **Address** field and pick the match from the suggestions — the city, state, and postal code fill in for you.

  <Step title="Set property type and parking">
    Choose a **Property type** and **Parking** option from their dropdowns.

    Click **Save Changes**. You'll see a **Property updated** confirmation, and the card refreshes.

<Note>
  **The address may be locked.** Once an estimate exists for the project, the **Address** field is locked so the estimate's pricing stays accurate — you'll see a note explaining that the estimate(s) must be deleted before the address can change. **Property type** and **Parking** can still be edited.

## Edit lead information

When a project came from a lead, the **Overview** also shows a **Lead Information** card. If you have permission to manage leads, its edit control opens a window where you can update the lead's details. The address links out to maps, and the project's overall story still flows from the estimate and job — see [Work a project](/guides/projects/work-a-project).

## Who can edit

Editing contacts and property details is available to **sales roles and above**. Removing a contact that already exists in the system is a more protected action and may be limited to certain roles. If the edit control isn't showing on a card, your role doesn't include that change.
