# Edit a Lead and Add Contacts

> Update a lead's contact and property details, and add secondary contacts like a spouse, tenant, or property manager.

Leads change as you learn more. Maybe you got the homeowner's email, fixed a typo in the address, or found out there's a second decision-maker. You can update any of those details and add more contacts right from the lead's page.

## Open the lead

<Steps>
  <Step title="Find the lead">
    Go to Leads, then click the lead you want. This opens the **lead summary** with its Contact Details, Property Details, and Lead Information.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Edit">
    Each section — Contact Details, Property Details, and Lead Information — has an Edit button. Click any of them to open the Edit Lead form with everything already filled in.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  The **Edit** buttons only appear if your role can change leads. If you don't see them, ask an Ops Manager or Admin to make the change, or to adjust your access.
</Note>

## Update the details

The **Edit Lead** form looks just like the create form, with the lead's current information loaded in. Change whatever you need:

* Contact name, phone, email, and relationship in the Contact Details section.
* The property Address — retype it and pick the new match from the suggestions. Add an apartment, suite, or unit number in the optional **Address line 2**.
* Confidence Level, Lead source, and Lead notes in the Additional Details section.

When you're finished, click **Update Lead**. You'll see a Lead updated successfully confirmation and the summary refreshes with your changes.

## Add a secondary contact

A lead can have more than one contact — handy when there's a spouse, a tenant, or a property manager involved alongside the main point of contact.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the lead for editing">
    From the lead summary, click **Edit** on the **Contact Details** section.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Click Add Contact">
    Under the existing contact, press **Add Contact**. A new contact card appears, numbered **Contact 2**, **Contact 3**, and so on.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fill in the new contact">
    Enter the **First Name**, **Last Name**, **Phone**, **Email**, and **Relationship to Property** for the additional person.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick the primary contact">
    Each contact card has a **Primary Contact** switch. Turn it on for whichever person is your main point of contact — only one can be primary at a time. The primary contact is the one shown at the top of the lead and used when scheduling.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save">
    Click **Update Lead** to save all contacts at once.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Tip>
  To remove a contact, click the delete icon on its card. If that contact was copied in from an existing client, you'll get a quick **Remove contact?** confirmation first — just to make sure it was on purpose.
</Tip>
