# Browse invoices

> Find any invoice fast — use the status tabs, summary totals, search, filters, and sortable columns on the Invoices page, then open one to see the full detail.

The **Invoices** page is your home base for every invoice in the branch. From here you can see what's been billed, what's still owed, and what's overdue at a glance — then narrow the list down to the exact invoice you need with tabs, search, filters, and sortable columns.

<Note>
  This page shows invoices across all of your projects in one place, so you don't have to open each project to find a bill.

## Open the Invoices page

Go to **Invoices** from the main navigation. The page opens with the full list, the status tabs across the top, and a row of summary totals above it.

## Read the summary totals

At the top of the page is a row of cards that sum up the branch's billing at a glance:

* **Total Invoiced** — the full amount billed.
* **Outstanding** — money invoiced but not yet collected.
* **Total Collected** — money that has come in.
* **Overdue** — outstanding balances past their due date.

<Tip>
  The summary cards double as quick filters. Click a card — for example **Overdue** — and the list below filters to just those invoices. Click the same card again to clear it.
</Tip>

## Filter by status with the tabs

Just above the list is a set of tabs, each with a live count so you can see how many invoices sit in each state:

* **All** — every invoice.
* **Draft** — started but not yet sent.
* **Open** — sent and awaiting payment.
* **Partially Paid** — some payment received, a balance remains.
* **Paid** — paid in full.
* **Voided** — cancelled.

Click a tab to show only invoices in that state.

## Search for an invoice

Use the search box above the list to jump straight to one invoice. Search **by name or invoice number** — start typing a client's name or the invoice number and the list narrows as you type.

<Tip>
  If you only know the invoice number, you can also use the **Invoice ID** field inside the filters panel to match it exactly.
</Tip>

## Narrow the list with filters

Open the filters panel for finer control. You can combine any of these:

* **Client Name** — show invoices for one client.
* **Invoice ID** — match a specific invoice number.
* **Status** — tick one or more states (Draft, Open, Paid, Voided, Partially Paid).
* **Created Date**, **Issued Date**, **Sent Date**, **Due Date** — pick a date range for any of these.
* **Created By** — show invoices raised by a particular team member.

<Note>
  Filters stack. Picking a client and a due-date range together shows only that client's invoices due in that window. Clear a filter to widen the list again.
</Note>

## Make sense of the columns

Each invoice in the list shows:

| Column | What it tells you |
| - | - |
| **Invoice #** | The invoice number — click it to open the invoice. |
| **Client Name** | Who the invoice is for. |
| **Project Name** | The project it belongs to. |
| **Status** | Draft, Open, Partially Paid, Paid, Refund Due, or Voided. |
| **Subtotal** | The invoice amount before tax. |
| **Tax** | The tax charged — a tax-exempt invoice shows `$0.00`. |
| **Total** | The full invoice amount, tax included. |
| **Balance Due** | What's still owed. |
| **Issue Date** | When the invoice was issued. |
| **Sent Date** | When it was sent to the client. |
| **Due Date** | When payment is due — a red alert marks an overdue invoice. |
| **Created Date** | When the invoice was first created. |

<Tip>
  Click a sortable column header to sort the list by it — for example, sort by **Due Date** to see what's coming up first, or by **Balance Due** to surface the largest outstanding amounts. You can also sort by **Subtotal** or **Tax**. Click again to flip between ascending and descending.
</Tip>

## Open an invoice

Click an invoice number (or choose **View Invoice** from its actions) to open the full detail view, where you can see line items, payment history, and the running balance.

## Act on an invoice from the list

Every row has an actions menu (the three-dot button on the right). Depending on the invoice's status, you'll see options such as:

<Steps>
  <Step title="View Invoice">
    Open the full invoice detail.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record Payment">
    Log a payment received against an open, partially paid, or draft invoice. Choosing it on a draft opens the invoice and asks you to confirm first, because recording a payment finalizes a draft.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add Credit">
    Apply a credit to an open, partially paid, or draft invoice that still has a balance owed. As with a payment, adding a credit to a draft finalizes it, so you'll confirm on the invoice first.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Void Invoice">
    Cancel an invoice that should no longer be collected.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Delete Invoice">
    Remove a draft that was never sent.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Note>
  The menu only shows the actions that make sense for that invoice's current status — a paid invoice won't offer a payment option, and only an unsent draft can be deleted.
</Note>
